BPAA encourages the next generation
Introducing students to the property industry
Mentoring session in conjunction with the Bristol Property Inclusion Charter, Bristol Works and UWE.
Hannah Waterhouse and past president Julian Harbottle, alongside a handful of other property professionals attended a mentoring session in conjunction with the Bristol Property Inclusion Charter, Bristol Works and UWE.
Held in the UWE Business school, (which is looking fantastic may we add), this involved forty 14 and 15 year old students from Orchard school in Horfield, splitting in to teams and advising on some alternative uses for the Galleries in Bristol City Centre. They had to consider sustainability, costs, markets and community as part of the brief.
We could definitely learn a thing or two from these students and we were genuinely blown away with how well they tackled the project and worked together in their presentations. The aim is to get young people, who ordinarily would not be exposed to a property as a career, interested in order that we work towards creating a more diverse and inclusive sector – which of course is a benefit to us all.
Thanks to Ytzen van der Werf, Karl Brown and Elo Acland for organising
Whilst we are on the subject of encouraging the next generation...
The Bristol Property Agents Association (BPAA) are proud to be collaborating with the School of Architecture & Environment - UWE Bristol and Bristol Property Inclusion Charter who have founded the UWE Bristol Real Estate Mentoring Scheme.
The idea is to meet current students 2-3 times a year for an hour to introduce them to the property industry. Especially those students without the contacts via their personal network.
We could use more mentors so please sign up via the link - https://lnkd.in/erKhG9Cx
